Kathryn Bigelow, director of The Hurt Locker, made history last night by being the first female to win an Oscar for best directing. Her film was the big winner last night taking home 6 Oscars, including those for best picture and best original screenplay.
The Hurt Locker triumphed over the blockbuster Avatar, which was directed by Bigelow's former husband, James Cameron.
What a feeling that must be, to go head to head with your EX! Bigelow sat directly in front of Cameron and his partner. What an interesting night that must have been!
