Recipe Recommendation: Bethenny's BBQ Bleu Turkey Burger

Last night we whipped up turkey burgers using Bethenny Frankel's recipe. The burgers were delicious! They were filled with flavor and not fat. The preparation is extremely easy and quick. We definitely recommend this recipe!

Ingredients:
1 package ground white turkey (1.3 lbs) (we used 99% fat free)
1/3 cup of your favorite barbeque sauce
1 Tablespoon of your favorite mustard (I used stone ground)
1 Tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
1/3 cup bleu cheese
4-6 whole wheat buns

Preparation:
1. In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients until mixed well. Use ice cream scoop or ½ cup measure to make 4-6 equal-size patties.

2. Put patties on broiler or pan lined with foil and sprayed with cooking spray.

3. Broil or grill patties for 5 to 6 minutes on each side or until done.

4. Serve of warm whole wheat buns

Born This Way - Glee's Version

Did you watch Glee last night?!

What did you think of the cast's rendition of Lady Gaga's Born This Way? What did you think of the message behind the episode?

We loved the Barbara Streisand dance routine! We also liked the message of last night's episode. There is no such thing as "perfect". Everyone is unique in their own way and learning to embrace your characteristics and love yourself fully will allow you to reach for the stars.

Keep your skin clean and clear

Clear skin can be difficult to achieve and even more difficult to maintain. We don't even realize how many factors effect our skin!

Breakouts are hard to avoid... stress, hormones and weather can cause your skin to act out.

Try to avoid skin flare ups by:
1. Don't pick at your skin! Picking at your skin, whether it is something big or small, can cause spotting and irritation.
2. Don't abruptly change products: always test out products before you make the switch and transition the change
3. Don't put your hands on your face: hands are covered in bacteria and oil. Try to check the way you sit at your desk - lean back instead of forward.
4. Get enough sleep: Sleep helps many thing, especially your skin.

What are your clean skin tricks? Do you live by any skin regimens? Let us know under "comments".

Local Restaurant Review - Hawkers Asian Street Fare

Last week we had the chance to try Hawkers Asian Street Fare and boy oh boy were we impressed!

The restaurant is located at 1103 Mills Avenue in Orlando and serves "tapas" style asian fusion meals. The food was delicious and the price cannot be beat. Most of the menu items range from $4 to $6!

We had the spring salad ($4) and the Malaysian Prawn Mee Soup ($6). The salad was good and the soup was amazing. This soup included egg noodles, jumbo shrimp, bean sprouts, chicken breast and boiled eggs.

The interior of the restaurant is clean and contemporary. We give Hawkers an A+ and highly recommend it to anyone in the Central Florida area.

Welcome to the U.S.A

Today, one of our co-workers officially become a United States citizen.

We celebrated this exciting step this morning with a mini work party. Each person brought something to add to the celebration.

I chose to bring a USA flag cookie cake (pictured above). This was extremely easy to make and tasted light and delicious. A big hit at the office!

How to:
1. Spread sugar cookie dough out on a square pan and bake according to package instructions
2. Set to the side and let cool
3. Spread light cool whip across the cookie layer
4. Decorate with strawberries, blackberries and blueberries

Grow Your Seasonings

Some of our favorite recipes often call for fresh basil, thyme, cilantro and oregano. So we often find ourselves having to purchase these herbs/seasonings at the grocery store. Over time we have realized that this can be a costly seasoning that can be grown at home.

This lead us to investigate how to grow our own herbs to season our favorite dishes, leading us to LearnVest's tips - click here to learn more.

Do you have your own herb garden? Do you find yourself spending too much each week on fresh herbs? Let us know under "comments".
