The 5th of May celebrates the Mexican army's unlikely defeat of French forces at the Battle of Puebla, back on May 5, 1862.
This a wonderful celebratory holiday and makes us think of one special thing... MARGARITAS! When we think of margaritas we also think of our favorite housewife Bethenny and her now infamous cocktail, the Skinny Girl Margarita. Check out the recipe below, and shake up some margaritas to celebrate Cinqo de Mayo tonight!
The Skinny Girl Margarita:
On the Rocks
- 2 oz Clear Premium Tequilla (count 1, 2 while you pour, no need for measuring)
- Juice of four fresh lime wedges
- A splash of Cointreau, Grand Marnier, or Triple Sec
Combine all ingredients over a glass of ice and garnish with a lime wedge and salt.
Makes one serving - so obviously mix-up a bunch for you and your friends!
If you would like to make the frozen version, check out Bethenny's how-to video below.
