Flip Flops May Be Bad For Your Feet!

Newsweek is reporting that the beloved comfort shoe, flip flops, may actually be bad for your feet! Justin Shroyer, a doctoral student in biomechanics at Auburn, has discovered through testing that flip flop wearers take shorter steps. These shorter steps put more stress on the body because you are moving more to go the same distance as people wearing other kinds of shoes. This could mean a higher risk of muscle and joint pain in the legs. Shroyer also reports that toes are a problem when wearing flip flops. So should we swear off flip flops forever?! Shroyer says that everything in moderation is alright.

What do YOU think of this study? Do flip flops cause you heel or leg pain? Would you kick the habit of throwing on these easy comfy summer shoes?

That is just crazy.. Flip-flops can tone the calves and exercise your toes. Just be careful of your ankles and make sure the flip-flops are the right size.
