Eating baked or broiled fish protects the heart

"How you prepare fish is just as - if not more - important that the type of fish in terms of seeing benefits," says Dr. Donald Llyod-Jones.

We try to incorporate fish into our diet for the omega-3 benefits, but never knew cooking style was also important in gaining the health benefits. Click here to read the study and learn more.

Baked salmon is extremely easy! Preheat over to 425, season salmon, and bake for 18 minutes or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork. Serve with your favorite sides and done!

Monday Sweet Tooth

Mondays can leave you feeling a little blah. Over the weekend we tend to indulge in things we typically don't during the week. So, those sugar cravings may sneak up on you in the afternoon.

That's okay. Instead of reaching for candy or a sweet that will weigh you down, make your 3pm pick me up snack one of these:

- Non-fat greek yogurt with cinnamon, fruit and agave nectar
- A mini peanut butter and banana sandwich on whole wheat bread or pita
- Microwave a pear and top with honey greek yogurt and granola
- Planet Smoothie's frozen goat smoothie

Do you have a go to 3pm snack? Let us know under "comments".

We are obsessed with Justin's chocolate covered almond butter!

We came across a small sample packet at Whole Foods and couldn't resist. The taste is salty and sweet and immediately satisfies your cravings. We will definitely be going back for more!

Favorite New Nail Polish Color

We have found our new neutral nail polish color for spring/summer! We are loving Essie's Body Language (pictured on our nails - pardon the bad pic).

Body Language resembles a creme gray mixed with ultra light pink. We like that this isn't the typical neutral Bubble Bath or Ballet Slippers, but is still appropriate for the professional arena and/or the corporate office.

White or Black?

With the debut of the white iPhone 4, we have to ask... are you in favor of the white or black iPhone?

We are currently on the fence. We own a blackberry... We know gasp at the horror! However, we have been contemplating the switch. Anything to delay change, we have been mulling over the color. Let us know what you think under "comments".

Lighter take on a classic

Last night we made a classic light!

Our dinner consisted of a turkey meatball sub with a side of green beans. It was delicious and satisfying without the guilt. Check out our lighter take on this classic below.

Turkey meatballs:
1 pound of 99% fat free turkey breast
Parsley
Oregano
1 egg
Whole wheat breadcrumbs

*Combine the ingredients above and lightly sprinkle with salt and pepper. Use a spoon to make small meatballs and line a baking sheet. Broil for 10 minutes (time varies - depends on your oven).

Once the meatballs are cooked, place them in whole wheat sub bread, spread fresh tomato sauce over the meatballs (no salt added sauce is best), sprinkle basil on top, and then finish by topping them with reduced fat provolone cheese. Bake in the oven for 1-2 minutes or until cheese melts.

Green beans:
Steam 1 package of green beans, add 1 tablespoon olive oil and top with some salt and pepper.

Enjoy!

*Both items are pictured above.

Cinco de Mayo!

Today is one of our favorite celebratory days - Cinco de Mayo!

This means we have to celebrate tonight with our favorite margaritas. Yum!

Of course we recommend the Skinnygirl margarita, but if you are in the mood to try something different...

Paloma:
2 oz Tequila
.5 oz Fresh lime juice
4 oz Grapefruit soda
1 pinch Salt

Garnish: Lime wedge
Glass: Highball

Add all the ingredients to a highball glass filled with ice. Stir, and garnish with a lime wedge.

Tequila Mojito
2 oz Herradura Blanco Tequila
1 oz Herradura Blue Agave Nectar
1 oz Lime juice
4 Mint leaves
2 oz Club soda

Glass: Collins

In a shaker, muddle the mint leaves. Add the tequila, lime juice and agave nectar and fill with ice. Shake and strain into a Collins glass.

Enjoy and drink responsibly!

2011 Met Gala

The Met Gala is like the Oscars of the fashion world. The red carpet is known to bring some of the most unique and daring red carpet looks. Celebrities hang on the arms of their dress designers and pose hoping to be known as "best dressed" of the night.

With so many beautiful gowns, it is hard to pick a favorite.

What we liked:
Jessica Szohr's short black mini dress with metallic tinsel and tiered ruffles. This look, pictured above, is young and fun.

Gwyneth Paltrow in Stella McCartney. Gorgeous! (pictured above)

What we didn't like:
Karolina Kurkova's Jean Paul Gaultier dress. Too much going on!
