Nina Garcia's New Look Book

Back in 2007 Nina Garcia penned The Little Black Book, now Garcia is back with her second book, Look Book: What to Wear for Every Occasion (Voice, $23.99).

Garcia is fashion director for Marie Claire magazine and long-time judge on Lifetime’s Project Runway. In her book, she answers the question all women ask when attending some of life’s most important events: “What should I wear?” Job interview, first date, parent/teacher conference — Garcia’s got it covered.

"What should I wear?" is a question we find ourselves asking quite a bit. We are exited to pick-up Garcia's book and see what she recommends. We are also loving the book's original art work by Ruben Toledo. The illustrations are colorful, lively, and cool!

Guess Who?

Everyone is speculating when, where, and what regarding Chelsea Clinton's wedding.

She was spotted "incognito" going into Vera Wang yesterday and the picture has circulated far and wide (see above). WWD published the photo with the title "Here Comes the Bride".

According to reports, Clinton was doing a complete dress rehearsal for her wedding day - hair, makeup, and the dress.

If you are married, did you go through a dress rehearsal pre wedding? If you are single, would you do a dress rehearsal pre wedding?

Stressed at work? Study says a sweet drink could help.

A recent study found sugary beverages can help ease tension at work and make employees less argumentative.

The findings note sugar in drinks like sweet tea give employees an energy surge that allows their brains to control impulses and prevent them from reacting too quickly in stressful situations. These findings are contrary to the usual belief that sugar causes a rush roller coaster that could make people snap or act spontaneously.

So a sweet drink before a big meeting or during a stressful work day may help your mental health and stability in the office. What do you think of this study? Do you drink sweet drinks at work? Are you willing to give this a try? Let us know under "comments".

Back on Track - Post Holiday Breakfast

We hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July weekend!

One often overindulges during the holidays and is left feeling somewhat sluggish post-holiday. Get back on track and re-energize with a healthy smart breakfast!

We recommend:
Yogurt filled cantaloupe - Cut a cantaloupe in half and scoop out the seeds. Fill the hole with six ounces of nonfat Greek vanilla yogurt. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup of granola and five fresh raspberries.
Use a spoon to scoop bites right out of the cantaloupe peel. You don't even need to bother with dirtying a dish.

Protein Pancakes - 1/4 cup egg whites, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1/2 mashed banana, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tbs flaxseed, Add a handful of fresh or frozen blueberries after the above ingredients are mixed together.

Pour into a pan that has been sprayed with olive oil cooking spray- heat on medium. Cook one side until you see little bubbles. Flip over and cook on the other size until the middle is done. Top with two sliced strawberries and powdered stevia.

Another great staple is steel cut oatmeal made with almond or soy milk and topped with blueberries and almonds.

4th of July Sweet Treats

Do you celebrate the 4th of July with red, white, and blue sweet treats?

There are so many great ideas for RWB baking and decorating!

Some of our favorites:
*Decorate red velvet cupcakes with blue star toppings.

*Pretzel Sparklers (pictured)
- To make 2 dozen, place 4 ounces chopped semisweet chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water. Stir occasionally until melted; remove from heat. Using a pastry brush, coat the upper third of each pretzel rod in chocolate. Cover with sprinkles; stand pretzels upright in a glass. Place in the refrigerator until firm, about 5 minutes.

* Patriotic yogurt parfait
- Layer vanilla yogurt, strawberries, and blueberries in a small glass, like a shot glass. Serve chilled.

* Mixed berry salad with mint
- Whisk together 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 tablespoons orange-flavored liqueur. Gently fold in strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and 1/4 cup fresh mint leaves.
